Man arrested after crashing car into White House security gate

Washington, Oct 22: A man was taken into custody late Tuesday after crashing his car into a security gate outside the White House, the US Secret Service confirmed. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of 17th and E Streets.

Secret Service officers quickly arrested the driver, and inspections confirmed the vehicle posed no further threat. President Donald Trump was inside the White House at the time, but the building was not placed on lockdown. Nearby roads remained closed briefly while authorities arranged to tow the car.
