Bhind, Oct 21: In a deeply disturbing case of caste-based violence, a Dalit youth was allegedly abducted, brutally assaulted, and forced to drink urine by three individuals in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district, police confirmed on Tuesday.
The victim, whose identity has been withheld for protection, said his ordeal began when he was forcibly taken from Bhind to Gwalior by the accused. Upon reaching Gwalior, he was allegedly made to consume alcohol before being subjected to the degrading act of drinking urine — a humiliation meant to further demean him, according to his statement.
Despite being terrified, the victim managed to contact his family, who rushed to Gwalior and took him to a government hospital for treatment. Authorities were immediately alerted, prompting swift action from district officials.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Pathak and District Collector Karorilal Meena visited the victim at the hospital. ASP Pathak confirmed that a case has been registered under multiple sections, including assault, illegal confinement, and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Two of the accused — identified as Sonu and Alok, both residents of Bhind — have been arrested. A manhunt is underway for the third suspect, whose identity is known but not yet disclosed publicly.
Regarding the urine-forcing allegation, Pathak said the matter is under investigation and further legal steps will follow once the medical report is available.
Collector Meena assured the victim’s family of strict action. “The district hospital has been asked to expedite the medical examination, and we will ensure that justice is served swiftly,” he said.
This shocking incident comes just days after a similar case of caste violence was reported from Katni district, where a Dalit man was assaulted. In that case, three individuals were arrested for committing atrocities against members of the marginalised community.
The Bhind case has reignited concerns over the persistent vulnerability of Dalits in parts of Madhya Pradesh, despite the presence of stringent laws meant to protect them from caste-based violence and discrimination.
