Indore, Oct 21: Speculation about Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music director Palash Muchhal intensified after Muchhal publicly confirmed that Mandhana will soon become the “daughter-in-law of Indore.”

At an event at the State Press Club, Muchhal, who hails from Indore, said with a smile, “She will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore… that’s all I want to say.” This marks the first direct acknowledgment from either party after months of media speculation.

Mandhana, vice-captain and opening batter of the Indian women’s cricket team, has often been seen with Muchhal in social media photos, but neither had confirmed their relationship publicly. Muchhal reinforced the announcement, saying, “I've given you the headline.”

The music director also extended his best wishes to the Indian women’s cricket team ahead of a crucial ICC Women’s World Cup ODI match against England at Holkar Stadium, Indore, adding, “My best wishes are with Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti. We always want the Indian cricket team to win every match and bring glory to the country.”

Apart from this personal revelation, Muchhal is busy with his directorial venture ‘Raju Bajewala’, starring Avika Gor and Chandan Roy. Known for his musical compositions alongside his sister Palak Muchhal, he remains a well-known figure in Indore.

Local residents welcomed the announcement, marking a moment of excitement for fans as Mandhana continues her preparations for India’s crucial World Cup clash.
