Sirhind, Oct 18: A fire erupted in one of the AC coaches of the Amritsar-Saharsa Garib Rath Express (Train No 12204) near Sirhind railway station on Saturday morning around 7:30 AM, officials said.
The train was traveling from Amritsar at the time of the incident.

Passengers noticed smoke in coach G-19, prompting one passenger to pull the emergency chain and stop the train. All passengers from the affected coach were safely evacuated and shifted to other coaches to ensure their safety.
The fire engulfed coach G-19 and caused minor damage to two adjacent coaches. The three coaches were decoupled from the rest of the train, and fire tenders were rushed to the scene to control the blaze.
One person sustained minor injuries in the incident. Station House Officer of GRP Sirhind, Rattan Lal, said a 32-year-old woman suffered minor burn injuries and was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Fatehgarh Sahib for treatment.
Railway officials assured that after extinguishing the fire and completing safety checks, the train would resume its journey to Saharsa.
