Udupi, Oct 17: The Udupi Deanery Premier League (UDPL) Season 3 was held On October 12, at Udyavar Panchayat Ground, bringing together youth from across Udupi deanery. The event was inaugurated by Fr Anil D’Souza, parish priest of St Francis Xavier Church Udyavar, along with Fr Steevan Fernandes, director of ICYM Udupi diocese, Fr Rajesh Pasanna, director of ICYM Udupi deanery, president Rouvin Pereira, and the Udupi Deanery Council 2025.

Five teams participated namely Thunder Hawks, RD Raptors, Udupi XI, AJ Superkings, and Thunder Dragons. The matches concluded successfully as per the fixture, culminating in a vibrant valedictory ceremony.

The event was graced by Fr Charles Menezes, dean of Udupi deanery; Fr Ronson D'Souza CSC, parish priest of St Louis Church, Dahisar Mumbai and former ICYM Udupi deanery director; Fr Leo Praveen D’Souza, assistant priest of Mother of Sorrows Church Udupi; Fr Rajesh Pasanna, director of ICYM Udupi deanery, Maria Pereira, Youth Commission coordinator of Udupi deanery; Ashley D’Souza, general secretary of ICYM Karnataka region; and other council members.

Awards were presented amid celebration: Final man of the match- Royston Russel D’Souza; best wicket keeper- Avil Noronha; best fielder- Shawn Pereira; best bowler- Mervin D'Almeida; best batsman- Glanish Pinto; Ms UDPL- Disha Crasta; Mr UDPL- Elson Noronha. Winners: AJ Superkings; Runners-up: Thunder Dragons.

The event highlighted youthfulness, unity, and sportsmanship, embodying UDPL's spirit. The day ended with all participants singing the ICYM theme song, symbolizing youth solidarity.
