Vaishali, Oct 15: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav filed his nomination papers on Wednesday from the Raghopur assembly seat, aiming for a hat-trick in the constituency long represented by his parents, former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi.

The 35-year-old leader submitted his papers at the Vaishali district collectorate in Hajipur, accompanied by his parents, elder sister Misa Bharti, Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Yadav, and other close aides.

Thousands of supporters lined the 40-km route from the Yadav family residence in Patna to Hajipur, showering the car with flower petals and expressing hopes of the party’s return to power after 20 years.

Security personnel faced challenges controlling the enthusiastic crowd as Tejashwi stepped out of the car to proceed towards the office for filing. His father Lalu Prasad, seated in a wheelchair, and other family members were by his side throughout the proceedings.
