Mumbai, Oct 15: Popular streaming platform JioHotstar faced a brief outage on Wednesday, leaving users unable to access shows, movies, or even basic features like the search bar and watch history. Several users took to social media platform X to express their frustration over the sudden disruption.

“JioHotstar isn’t working! A lot of movies and shows are missing. There’s no search option or watched history,” one user wrote, while another commented, “Looks like the JioHotstar Android app is down and not loading at all. If it’s an update, who removes a search icon?”

The glitch coincided with a spike in complaints against Jio’s mobile and broadband network earlier in the day. According to outage tracking website DownDetector, around 400 users reported problems with Jio services around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Of these, 44% complained about mobile network unavailability, 32% reported no signal, and 26% faced issues with Jio Fiber.

Service has since been restored, with both JioHotstar and Jio network now functioning normally.
