Pentecostal joy at Milagres Church: Fifty children receive the Sacrament of Confirmation

Media Release

Mangaluru, Oct 14: A spirit-filled celebration marked a special day at Our Lady of Miracles Church, Milagres, Mangaluru, as fifty children received the Sacrament of Confirmation, embracing a deeper experience of faith and the Holy Spirit.

Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore, administered the sacrament and was accorded a warm welcome by the children. Addressing the gathering, Bishop Saldanha spoke on the sacred significance of Confirmation, urging the young faithful to live as witnesses of Christ in their daily lives.

The children participated enthusiastically in the preparatory catechetical sessions and the solemn Eucharistic celebration. The parish clergy concelebrated the Holy Eucharist with the bishop, invoking blessings upon the children and their families.

Sylvester Mascarenhas and Ida Crasta served as the godparents for the ceremony, offering their prayerful support and guidance to the newly confirmed children.

As a symbolic gesture to deepen their faith, each child was presented with a copy of the Holy Bible, along with a special message from the bishop encouraging them to 'read one chapter of the Word of God every day'.

The parish community extended heartfelt congratulations to all the children on this blessed occasion, marking a memorable day of spiritual renewal and joy for Milagres parish.
