Jaipur, Oct 13: In a horrifying incident, a seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 35-year-old man inside a private school in Jaipur on Saturday.

According to police sources, the accused entered the school premises and hid inside a toilet, where he caught hold of the girl and sexually assaulted her. The minor later narrated the incident to her teacher, who immediately alerted the school authorities, parents, and police.

Acting on inputs from locals who saw the man fleeing after jumping over the school wall, the police tracked him down and detained him. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and was subsequently arrested on Sunday, confirmed the Station House Officer (SHO) of Gandhi Nagar Police Station.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Further investigation is underway.
