Hassan, Oct 12: The wild bison that had created panic among residents in Channarayapatna town was finally captured by the forest department officials after an intense operation.

The animal, which had strayed from the forest into the town, had been roaming through residential areas, causing fear among locals. In one of the incidents, a woman sustained injuries after being attacked by the bison.

Forest officials, who had been making continuous efforts to capture the animal, succeeded in tranquilizing and securing it after several hours of struggle. However, the operation saw a dramatic twist when the bison managed to escape while being loaded onto a lorry for relocation.

Undeterred, the forest team pursued the animal once again and successfully captured it before safely relocating it back to its natural habitat.

Locals have heaved a sigh of relief after the successful capture of the wild bison that had thrown the town into chaos for the past few days.
