Bantwal, Oct 12: Two persons who had earlier escaped excise officials while transporting ganja in a Bolero vehicle were arrested by the police when they attempted to sell the substance on a bike. With this, the police have arrested two more accused in the ganja smuggling case.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Azaruddin from Farangipete and Mohammad Ashraf from Ammemar. Police seized 10 kg of ganja from their possession.

On October 8, Bantwal town police had earlier arrested two other accused, Abdul Sadiq and Abdul Majeed, during patrol duty led by PSI Sandeep Kumar Shetty.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police Dr Arun K, additional SP Anil Kumar Boomereddy, and Bantwal DYSP S Vijayaprasad. Bantwal town police inspector Anantapadmanabha led the operation along with PSIs Sandeep Kumar Shetty and Durgappa, ASIs Narayan and Naveen Kumar, and other staff members.
