Kundapur, Oct 11: Kundapura police have successfully cracked a recent gold chain snatching case within just a few days, arresting two accused from Shivamogga and Davanagere.
The incident occurred when complainant Meenakshi was walking with her daughter Jyothi from the KSRTC bus stand towards Shastri Park in Kundapur. Near the BSNL office, two men on a motorcycle snatched the gold chain with black beads from her neck and fled the spot.




Based on her complaint, a case was registered at the Kundapura police station. Under the leadership of investigating officer Jayaram D Gowda, the police apprehended the accused, Sanjay L from Shivamogga and Vasanth Kumar from Davanagere.
The police recovered stolen property worth Rs 8.2 lac, including the gold chain valued at Rs 3 lac, a Scorpio car, and a motorcycle used in the crime.
The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Kundapura sub-division DySP H D Kulkarni and Udupi DySP Prabhu D T, with the active participation of PSIs Nanjanayak, Pushpa, and Noothan, along with the police staff.
