Udupi, Oct 11: A sudden fire broke out on Friday in a building located in the opposite side of the Udupi court complex, causing extensive damage, officials said.
The fire reportedly originated from a short circuit at a beauty parlour on the second floor of the building. Udupi Fire Department personnel rushed to the scene and successfully doused the flames.
Many items inside the parlour were burnt beyond recognition.
Thick smoke engulfed the surrounding area, prompting an immediate response from the fire department. Continuous operations by the firefighters brought the blaze under control, averting further damage to the building.
