Montgomery, Oct 11: Montgomery police have arrested a juvenile in connection with Saturday night’s deadly shooting downtown, which left two dead and 12 injured, authorities said on Friday.

The victims were identified as 17-year-old Jeremiah Morris and 43-year-old Shalanda Williams. The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. during public events, police said.

The juvenile suspect, whose identity and age have not been disclosed, faces one count of capital murder, nine counts of first-degree assault, and three counts of second-degree assault, according to a police video caption posted on Facebook.

Montgomery Police Chief Jim Graboys confirmed that there was more than one shooter involved. “This was two parties involved that were basically shooting at each other in the middle of a crowd,” he said, highlighting the chaotic nature of the incident.
