Mangaluru: Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences organizes ‘Skill Enhancement Programme’

Mangaluru, Oct 10: As a consultancy service under Vriddhi Industry Academia Collaboration, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (NUINS) Mangalore organized 'Skill Enhancement Programme' for BSc nursing students of Red Crescent College of Nursing Kozhikode, Kerala on September 12. The event sought to empower the external students and faculty in enhancing the selected clinical and teaching competencies as requested by the authorities of Red Crescent College of Nursing, Kerala. This consultancy was organised using institutional resources and it was an opportunity to establish good public relation among the institutions.

The programme coordinator & Vriddhi Industry Academia Collaboration, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Prof Dr Jacintha Veigas welcomed the gathering and oriented the guest students and faculty on the inception, input, process outcomes and future plans of NUINS through PPT presentation. Gourab Roy, assistant lecturer, department of mental health nursing provided physical orientation of the college.

The consultancy services were to enhancing the competencies on use of syringe pump, practice of PALS, labour process, which were demonstrated to the students by Basavaraj, lecturer department of medical surgical nursing, Dr Sharlet D’Souza, associate professor, Prof Dr Sujatha HOD of department of child health nursing, Anju, assistant professor, Dept of OBG nursing, NUINS, respectively. Prof Dr Jacintha Veigas, elaborated on flipped classroom teaching method

This event was aligned with SDG 4 by promoting quality education through an opportunity to enhance skills. At the end, Prof Dr Jacintha Veigas, institution lead, Vriddhi IIC, NUINS, proposed the vote of thanks.

The workshop concluded with return demonstrations and engaging Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to perform and address their queries and clear the doubts. The workshop served as a significant step toward enhancing competence and empowering individuals through education, setting a benchmark for future initiatives in the clinical and classroom learning. The event was highly commended for its practical approach, organization, expertise and its relevance to the current demands both in the clinical and classroom setting.
