Dubai, Oct 8: USWAS-Shirva has etched a new chapter in the UAE’s Konkani cultural history with its grand event ‘Kala Utsav’, presented in association with Precious Parties & Entertainment LLC. The spectacular celebration, held at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High School, Dubai, achieved a record-breaking houseful status one month prior to the event, surpassing three consecutive years of sold-out success. Over 1,500 enthusiastic audience members filled the venue, reflecting the community’s deep love, unity, and enduring passion for Konkani art and culture.

The evening began with a heartfelt tribute to the late Eric Ozario, a Konkani music legend, and late Sharan D’Souza, a founding member of USWAS. This emotional moment was followed by the USWAS theme song, which set the tone for an evening celebrating creativity, nostalgia, and togetherness.
The ever-energetic Dony Correa took charge as host, captivating the audience with his trademark humor, charisma, and warmth. His witty interaction and vibrant presence set the perfect mood for the musical spectacle that followed. The evening opened with a soulful prayer song ‘Namo Namo’, paying tribute to the legendary composer Wilfy Rebimbus, as the audience was transported into a world of melody and rhythm.
The stage then came alive with the Golden Melodies Artistes — Ivan, Vishwas, Veena, Rathan, Preema Aswin & Paloma — delivering timeless Wilfy Rebimbus classics in their unique, soulful style. Their captivating performances filled the auditorium with nostalgia and emotion, earning thunderous applause from the full house.
Adding laughter and light-heartedness to the night, Jimmy Moses, the multi-talented actor, stand-up comedian, and mimicry artist from Mumbai, stole the show with his rib-tickling humor. His performance — a mix of mimicry, acting, and witty commentary on everyday life and Indian culture — had the audience in splits, making him one of the evening’s highlights.
The stellar musical ensemble, led by Wilfy’s iconic duo Pappan and Joswin, and supported by Floid Pereira, Fred Roshan, Sameer, Philip Fernandes, and Craig, delivered electrifying performances that elevated every song.
