Mangaluru: JKSHCH hosts workshop on modernizing clinical patient

Mangaluru, Oct 7: The Orthopaedic department, JKSHCH along with Vriddhi Industry Academia Collaboration, NUINS, organized a workshop on ‘Clinical modernization in patient care’ on September 12, at Avishkar Hall, 7th Floor, A B Shetty Dental College, Mangaluru. This workshop was organized to empower the Nursing Interns with clinical competencies and thus to provide quality education.

This workshop was sponsored by SUN Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. The representative from internship group Afreena Wasim welcomed the gathering. The organizing secretary Prof Dr Jacintha Veigas, along with the resource persons namely Prof Dr Vikram Shetty, HOD Department of Orthopaedics, JKSHCH, and Dr Kiran Hari, senior resident Department of Orthopaedics, JKSHCH, Archana Naik the class coordinator and the intern representatives joined in lighting the lamp & inaugurating the event.

Prof Dr Vikram Shetty enlightened on the topic Robotic TKP pre and post care of patients. It was an opportunity for the participants to analyse how Robotic TKR surgeries outweigh the traditional surgeries. Classification of Osteoporosis and the demonstration on administering Teriparatide injection was dealt by Dr Kiran Hari. Both the sessions were informative interactive and provided updated information which is an essential component in the modernized patient care. The resource persons kept the participants engaged throughout by using the videos, attractive PPT and interaction.

Two representatives from SUN Pharmaceutical Industries were present during the sessions. The sessions ended at 4.00pm. Emima Suresh proposed vote of thanks. Tenzin Dolma, Intern compered the programme.

The workshop was enriching and practical. The participants appreciated the topics covered and the enriching content and experiences shared by the resource persons. The participants expressed that the programme was well organized, informative, thought provoking and useful.
