Dakshina Kannada district wins second prize at Mysuru Dasara procession

Mangaluru, Oct 6: The Dakshina Kannada (DK) district has bagged the second prize for its tableau at the grand Mysuru Dasara procession, which beautifully showcased the district’s rich art, culture, and traditional sports.

The tableau featured vibrant depictions of Yakshagana, Kambala, Hulivesha, and other folk and traditional games that reflect the cultural heritage of Dakshina Kannada.

The tableau was created under the guidance of the CEO of the zilla panchayat, while Manjunath Hegde, deputy director of the department of rural industries, served as the nodal officer for the project.
