Srinagar, Oct 4: In a decisive move to cripple terror networks and their support systems, Srinagar Police has seized a three-storey residential property spread over 15 marlas at Rose Avenue, HMT. The house, valued at nearly Rs 2 crore, is officially registered to Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, father of the designated terrorist Sajad Ahmad Sheikh, also known as Sajad Gul, according to revenue records verified by the Tehsildar Central, Shalteng, Srinagar.
The seizure was executed under FIR No. 235/2022, filed under sections 13, 38, 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and sections 2/3 of the EIMCO Act at Police Station Parimpora.

Authorities initiated proceedings under Section 25 of the UAPA, which allows attachment of properties suspected to be used for terrorist activities. The process took place in the presence of an Executive Magistrate to ensure legal compliance.
While the property is officially under the terrorist’s father’s name, investigations confirm that Sajad Gul actively controls and benefits from it. He is implicated in supporting terrorism, spreading anti-national propaganda, and inciting unrest via social media platforms.
This property seizure is part of a broader crackdown by Srinagar Police aimed at dismantling the financial and operational networks that sustain terrorism, including their cross-border backers and local sympathizers.
The police emphasized that this action delivers a strong warning that anyone aiding terrorism will face severe legal consequences, including confiscation of illegally obtained assets.
Reaffirming their commitment to law and order, Srinagar Police continues aggressive operations against terrorists, their associates, and sympathizers to completely disrupt the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
