Karkala, Oct 4: A shocking incident has come to light in Karkala, where a woman allegedly strangled her daughter to death following a dispute over her relationship.

The deceased has been identified as Apsa Bhanu Shifanaj, daughter of Sheikh Mustafa and Gulzar Bhanu, residents of Hirgana village in Karkala.

According to police sources, Shifanaj had expressed her wish to visit Udupi to meet Mohammad Saleem, with whom she was reportedly in love. Her mother, Gulzar Bhanu, objected to this and, in a fit of rage, allegedly strangled her daughter.

Initially, the death was reported as suspicious, and a case of unnatural death was registered at Karkala town police station. However, a post-mortem examination conducted at KMC Hospital, Manipal, confirmed that the cause of death was strangulation.

Based on the report, police registered a case of murder and arrested the accused mother, Gulzar Bhanu (45). She was produced before court after her arrest.

Karkala town police are investigating the case further.

it is better to give "liberty and freedom" once children are adults ... they have the privilege to decide their life ... once child is an adult, try to maintain cordial relations without being oppressive ...

"Normally children lie to their parents, when meeting their lover!" Do not forget that even the parents were children once upon a time. Life cycle is a continuous process. Why to blame only the children.

So much blood shed east to west but when such people will stop such evil acts. No mercy or feelings even with own family members. How on this earth such people are born and what is triggered them to do such act. So sad to see such behaviour

Now a days it's difficult to control children from selecting their partners & friends! If parents tried to impose their rules, this kind of mishap will take place!!! Since her daughter Shifanaj was honest, she mentioned about meeting her boyfriend..,, so got killed!!! Normally children lie to their parents, when meeting their lover!
