Kanara Cultural Association, Delhi elects new managing committee, launches ‘Nave Tarang’ vision

Delhi, Oct 3: The Kanara Cultural Association (KCA), Delhi, has announced the formation of its new managing committee for the term 2025–2027, along with the launch of its fresh vision titled ‘Nave Tarang’ (New Wave).

The newly elected managing committee includes Melwin Gabriel Lobo as president, Lydia D'Almedia and Vincent Crasta as vice presidents, Godfrey Frank as general secretary, Ashita Michael Pinto as joint secretary, Anil Pereira as treasurer, Wilfred Pinto as cultural secretary, Dorthy Pereira as spiritual secretary, Sr Regina as religious coordinator, Gremsy Sequeira and Joston D'Souza as youth secretaries, and Neharika Pinto and Amisha Cutinha as media coordinators.

The association continues to be guided by Fr Vincent D’Souza, who serves as the spiritual director, offering leadership and inspiration to the community.

Strengthening outreach across NCR

To enhance member engagement, the new managing committee has appointed area representatives across Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, and Gurgaon. The representatives include Noel Dais, Felix Fernandes, Sipri D’Souza, Joseph Rodrigues, Suchita Pinto, Sachin Vas, and Rahul Ivan Vas.

President’s vision – Nave Tarang

President Melwin Lobo outlined the vision of ‘Nave Tarang’, describing it as a movement to preserve and promote Konkani language, culture, and traditions, while inspiring creativity and pride among the younger generation.

“Nave Tarang is not just a name — it is a movement that represents fresh energy, unity, and cultural renewal. Together, we are the new wave of change, culture, and community,” Lobo said.

Call for participation

The new committee has urged members and well-wishers to support the “Nave Tarang” movement by participating in KCA events, volunteering, contributing ideas, and ensuring cultural values are carried forward to future generations.
