Udupi: Installation ceremony NSS office bearers held at SMVITM

Udupi, Sep 29: The NSS and YRC Unit of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, organized the NSS Day Celebration and NSS Cell installation ceremony on September 27 at the Seminar Hall, Admin Block.

The programme was graced by Ravi Katpady, noted social worker from Udupi, as the chief guest. In his inspiring address, he highlighted the importance of community service and motivated students to dedicate themselves to social causes with commitment and compassion.

The event was presided over by Professor Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, CEO, Sode Group of Institutions, Udupi, who in his presidential remarks emphasized the values of leadership, responsibility, and service ingrained through NSS activities. Dr Nagaraj Bhat, dean (Academics) SMVITM, was the guest of honor and encouraged students to actively participate in programmes that build both character and career.

A major highlight of the event was the installation of the new NSS Cell office bearers, during which badges were distributed and the oath was administered by NSS coordinator Sachin Prabhu, marking the beginning of their responsibilities. The ceremony also featured the felicitation of NSS faculty and student coordinators for AY 2024–25, along with the prize distribution for winners of the drug awareness poster-making competition.

The occasion concluded with the presentation of a memento to the chief guest.
