Teen beaten to death over wedding food dispute in Kannauj

Kannauj, Sep 28: A 14-year-old boy was brutally beaten to death following a dispute over serving food at a wedding reception in the Tirwa area of Kannauj district on Friday night, police said.

According to the FIR lodged on Saturday, the reception was organized by Noor Alam to celebrate his son’s marriage in Aher village. The boy had attended the event with his cousin. While serving food, he reportedly had a tiff with a man named Naseem, who was allegedly intoxicated.

“Shukla pestered the boy to serve a particular piece of food, which he couldn’t provide. Enraged, Naseem and three others assaulted him,” said SHO, Kotwali Tirwa, Sanjay Shukla.

The boy was rushed to the local medical college but was declared dead on arrival. Naseem was caught by people present at the reception, while the other three accused remain at large. Police have initiated investigation and further action is underway.
