Mumbai, Sep 27: A new chapter in Indian crime thrillers is about to unfold as Bhagwat, an intense and emotionally charged drama starring Arshad Warsi and Jitendra Kumar, readies for its premiere on ZEE5. Unveiled on Friday by the streaming platform via Instagram, the film’s first-look poster arrived with a bold message: “And we thought all the plot twists of 2025 were over, but the biggest one is here… Bhagwat is coming to blow your mind.” Inspired by true events, the story dives deep into the unsettling corridors of crime, mystery, and psychological suspense.

At the heart of the film is Inspector Vishwas Bhagwat, portrayed by Arshad Warsi in a performance that promises raw intensity and nuance. What begins as a routine investigation into a missing woman spirals into a dark labyrinth of secrets, deception, and the haunting undercurrents of trafficking. Jitendra Kumar, in a role that marks a striking departure from his previous work, plays Sameer, a professor entangled in a subtle romantic thread with Meera, which unfolds against the backdrop of a collapsing reality.

With direction by Akshay Shere, Bhagwat is produced by Jio Studios in collaboration with Baweja Studios and Dog ‘n’ Bone Pictures. The film aims to strike a balance between edge-of-your-seat thrills and complex emotional depth. Kaveri Das, Business Head, Hindi at ZEE5, described the film as one of the platform’s most ambitious offerings of the year, praising the cast’s transformative performances and the film’s ability to blend cinematic scale with bold storytelling.

Producer Harman Baweja echoed this sentiment, calling the film a deep dive into the moral grey zones of human nature, where love, justice, and betrayal intersect. For Baweja Studios, Bhagwat is a continuation of its mission to support stories that are unflinching, socially relevant, and emotionally resonant. As anticipation builds, audiences can expect a high-stakes psychological thriller that doesn’t just entertain—it provokes, questions, and lingers long after the credits roll. Streaming soon exclusively on ZEE5.
