Patna, Sep 26: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has confirmed that his party’s Bihar unit has reached out to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) seeking an alliance for the upcoming state elections, saying the decision now rests with the RJD.
In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Owaisi said, “Our doors are not closed, but we cannot be waiting forever. Our Bihar chief Akhtarul Iman has written to Lalu Prasad Yadav, stressing the need to prevent the BJP from returning to power.”

He added that the AIMIM has sought six seats from the RJD and proposed the creation of a Seemanchal Development Board if the alliance succeeds, clarifying that the party is not demanding ministerial posts.
Owaisi also invited the RJD to contest elections in his Hyderabad stronghold, adding a fresh twist to Bihar’s poll dynamics.
