New Delhi, Sep 26: A woman who filed a molestation case against self-styled godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati in 2016 has come forward with harrowing details, claiming he “had vulture-like eyes” on her and subjected her to repeated sexual harassment.
The 62-year-old, also known as Swami Parthasarathy, has now been charged with sexually harassing 17 students at his private management institute in Vasant Kunj, southwest Delhi.
The woman, who was 20 at the time, alleged that Chaitanyananda sent her obscene messages, calling her “baby” and “sweet girl,” and repeatedly summoned her to his office after classes ended at 6:30 pm.

“He would say I was ‘very talented’ and promised to take me to Dubai for studies, covering all expenses. I didn’t want this, but his staff pressured me continuously. Baba confiscated my mobile phone, forced me to live alone in the hostel, and forbade me from talking to anyone. He would call me at night in my room. He had a vulture-like eye on me,” she recounted.
She further alleged that Chaitanyananda suggested dinners and stays at “nice hotels” and attempted inappropriate physical contact. When he asked her to accompany him to Mathura, she ran away, leaving all her belongings behind. Students associated with him tried to pressure her to return, but her father intervened.
Police records indicate that Chaitanyananda had evaded previous molestation charges in 2009 and 2016, reportedly leveraging his influence to avoid prosecution.
In the current case, 17 women lodged complaints in early August, initially believing Chaitanyananda to be in London. He was later traced to Agra. He had filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Delhi High Court but withdrew it within days.
The case has reignited attention on the alleged misuse of influence by self-styled spiritual leaders and the challenges victims face in seeking justice.
