New Delhi, Sep 24: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the tentative date sheets for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations scheduled for 2026. According to the announcement, the examinations will take place between February 17 and July 15, 2026, covering a wide range of assessments across various categories.
The exam cycle will include:
• Main Board Examinations for Classes 10 and 12
• Board Exams for Sports Students (Class 12)
• Second Board Exams for Class 10
• Supplementary Exams for Class 12

CBSE expects around 45 lac students to participate, spanning 204 subjects in both India and 26 countries abroad. Alongside the written exams, practical exams, evaluation of answer scripts, and post-result processes will run concurrently to ensure the timely release of results.
As per the board's evaluation plan, checking of answer scripts will commence 10 days after each exam and wrap up within 12 days. For example, if the Class 12 Physics paper is held on February 20, evaluation will start on March 3 and conclude by March 15.
The board has emphasized that the current date sheets are tentative, and final versions will be released after schools complete the submission of candidate lists.
