MP road tragedy: 4 dead, 2 injured as SUV collides with stationary truck in Sidhi

Madhya Pradesh, Sep 19: Four people lost their lives and two others were injured when an SUV rammed into a stationary truck near the Bahri bypass in Sidhi district on Thursday evening.

The accident occurred around 7.30 pm, about 30 km from the district headquarters. The truck had been parked to unload equipment for a tent for Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s scheduled event, which has now been cancelled following the tragedy.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Aman Mishra, the SUV struck the truck from behind. Two passengers were killed instantly, while three others were rushed to Rewa Medical College, where one succumbed during treatment. Another victim, who was unloading the truck, died en route to the district hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Geeta Jaiswal (55), Dharmendra Jaiswal (25), Prince Jaiswal (30), and Soheb Khan (18), a resident of Sagar district. The injured, Ajay Jaiswal (20) and Balakrishna Prajapati (30), are reported to be in stable condition.

Police have initiated an investigation into the accident, and local authorities are coordinating with the families of the victims.
