Paris, Sep 18: Showrunner and author Jenny Han has confirmed that a feature film based on her popular book series The Summer I Turned Pretty is in the works, following the finale of the show’s third season.

The announcement was hinted at in a post-credits easter egg, where Han wrote: “Maybe we’ll meet again one summer in Cousins,” sparking speculation among fans. The official confirmation also appeared on the show’s X handle, alongside a photo of Lola Tung (Belly) and Christopher Briney (Conrad) posing in front of a premiere poster.

While plot details remain under wraps, Han revealed that the film will continue the story of the series. She will co-write the screenplay with Sarah Kucserka, and emphasized that a movie format was needed to give Belly’s journey its “proper due.” No release date has been announced yet.
