Mumbai, Sep 14: Japanese dark-fantasy action blockbuster Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is proving unstoppable at the Indian box office, matching its Rs 13 cr opening-day haul with another Rs 13 crore on Day 2, trade tracker Sacnilk reported. The film’s two-day total now stands at Rs 26 crore, a rare feat for an anime release in India.
On Saturday, the movie logged an overall 47.75% occupancy in Japanese (2D) screenings, with show-wise figures of 41.58% (morning), 53.58% (afternoon), and 48.08% (evening and night). English-dubbed shows recorded 38.19% occupancy, while the Hindi version drew 21.60%.

The performance dwarfs past anime titles here: Jujutsu Kaisen 0 earned just Rs 4.85 crore over its entire four-day run, and Suzume couldn’t reach Rs 1 crore. Even James Gunn’s Superman opened at only Rs 7.25 crore in India.
Directed by Haruo Sotozaki, Infinity Castle features the original Japanese voice cast—Natsuki Hanae, Takahiro Sakurai, Saori Hayami, Akira Ashida, and Hiro Shimono—and benefits from a rapidly growing Indian anime fanbase that flourished during the pandemic lockdowns.
