Tamannaah Bhatia on breaking barriers in male-dominated film world

Mumbai, Sep 10: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, gearing up for the Amazon Prime release Do You Wanna Partner alongside Diana Penty, opened up about holding her own in a male-dominated industry.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, she said, “Whenever a man tried to make me feel like he had the final say and I had nothing to contribute, I’d imagine him in a saree or a glamorous outfit—and he’d look really bad! That made me realise—what I can do, only I can do. They will need me.”

Tamannaah added, “Nobody gives you work because you’re nice. People give you work because you bring something to the table. Worrying too much about how people feel only dims your opportunity to contribute.”

Do You Wanna Partner follows best friends Shikha (Tamannaah) and Anahita (Diana) as they venture into the start-up world with a craft beer brand. The series, directed by Collin D'Cunha and Kumar, also stars Jaaved Jaaferi, Nakuul Mehta, Shweta Tiwari, Neeraj Kabi, Sufi Motiwala, and Rannvijay Singha, and premieres exclusively on Prime Video on September 12.
