New Delhi, Sep 10: In a joint operation, Delhi Police’s Special Cell, Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and Ranchi police arrested two suspected ISIS operatives, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The prime accused, Ashar Danish, a native of Bokaro, was apprehended from Ranchi. Danish was wanted in a case registered by the Delhi Police Special Cell linked to an ISIS-inspired terror module.
Another suspect, Aftab, was arrested from Delhi during the simultaneous operation, officials said.

Preliminary investigations indicate that both suspects were in contact with members of an ISIS-inspired network and were allegedly engaged in activities aimed at furthering the terror outfit’s agenda in India.
Sources involved in the operation said Danish had been under the security agencies’ radar for several months, with surveillance revealing his suspected links and activities related to the terror network.
The arrests mark a significant move in India’s counter-terror efforts, as authorities continue to track and neutralize threats posed by extremist networks.
