Mangaluru, Sep 6: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru in collaboration with the entrepreneurship and employability skills cell organised “Institution’s Council BOLPU – A Dawn of Opportunities”, a pre-university entrepreneurship fest showcasing the spirit of innovation and venture creation, on September 4 at the Eric Mathias Hall.
The programme aimed to highlight the importance of nurturing local startups and empowering young entrepreneurs through mentorship, funding, and market access.
Capt Brijesh Chowta, MP (Lok Sabha) was the chief guest, while Johnson Tellis, co- founder of InUnity LLP was the guest of honour. Dr Praveen Martis SJ, vice-chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Dr Alwyn D’Sa, registrar of the College, Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar of the University, Savin Premi Lobo, chair of Entrepreneurship and Consultancy, and Delma Lora D’Cunha, president of the Entrepreneurship Cell were present on the dais.













In his address, Capt Brijesh Chowta emphasised the need to find, fund, and foster the next wave of entrepreneurship in Namma Ooru, Mangaluru. He urged students and aspiring founders to be part of the city’s growth story, underlining how local ventures can expand nationally and globally with the right support system.
Johnson Tellis, in his talk, elaborated on the Bolpu accelerator programme, explaining how it is designed to provide early-stage ventures with mentorship, visibility, funding, and market access. He invited students to enrol in the program and engaged in a lively interactive session, answering several questions from enthusiastic participants.
The overwhelming response, with extra registrations beyond expectations, highlighted the students’ keen interest in entrepreneurship.
In his presidential remarks, Dr Praveen Martis SJ welcomed the dignitaries and appreciated the initiative, encouraging students to take advantage of opportunities such as Bolpu to build innovative ventures that contribute to society.
The event concluded with students being invited to register for the program through a live QR code scan, marking the beginning of a journey of entrepreneurial exploration.
