Ajay Devgn shared his sorrow over the situation, writing that the widespread destruction in the North was “truly heartbreaking” and hoped that aid reaches the victims swiftly.

Filmmaker Karan Johar echoed similar sentiments, describing the floods in Punjab as brutal and called on everyone to share only verified information while doing their part in supporting relief efforts.

The disaster has been triggered by intense rainfall in catchment areas across Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, causing rivers like the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi to overflow. Severely affected districts in Punjab include Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, and Amritsar.

Due to safety concerns, the Char Dham Yatra and Hemkund Sahib pilgrimage have been suspended until September 5.

As rescue and relief efforts continue, the solidarity shown by public figures is helping to raise awareness and encourage support for those caught in the unfolding humanitarian crisis.
