Bengaluru, Sept 2: In a proud moment for Indian cinema, especially the Kannada film industry, the city of Austin in Texas, USA, has officially declared August 23 as ‘Ramesh Aravind Day’ in honour of the acclaimed actor-director’s multifaceted contributions to film, culture and motivational speaking.
The rare international recognition was conferred during the ‘Day of Gratitude 2025’ celebrations, held in Austin on August 23 in front of a packed gathering of dignitaries, community leaders, and admirers.
The city's Mayor Pro Tem Vanessa Fuentes presented the proclamation to Ramesh Aravind, along with a special citation from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, marking a significant milestone in the actor’s illustrious career.

“This is one of the most extraordinary moments of my life. I will never forget this day,” said Ramesh Aravind in an emotional address, as the audience responded with a standing ovation.
