Mangaluru: Auto-rickshaw driver dies after car collision near Manur

Mangaluru, Aug 29: An auto-rickshaw driver lost his life after a car rammed into his vehicle near Manur, close to Neermarga in Mangaluru.

The deceased has been identified as Kishore Kumar (48). He was travelling from Adyar Katte towards Neermarga when the incident occurred. At the downhill stretch near Manur temple, a car driven recklessly and at high speed by Arfaz Ahmed Afrid from the opposite direction collided with the rickshaw.

Due to the impact, the rickshaw was thrown into a roadside ditch, and the car landed on top of it. Kishore sustained severe head injuries in the accident. Locals rushed him to Wenlock Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

A case has been registered at Mangaluru South traffic police station.
