Chennai, Aug 23: Director Sathyan Anthikad’s much-anticipated Malayalam family drama Hridayapoorvam, starring superstar Mohanlal, has officially been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a clean ‘U’ certificate, signaling its readiness for release on August 28. The news was shared by Mohanlal himself on social media with the caption “Crafted with heart. #Hridayapoorvam is ready,” alongside a new poster highlighting the film’s "censored clean" status.
The buzz around the film has been steadily building, especially after music director Justin Prabhakaran confirmed the completion of the background score and final mix. Known for his soulful compositions, Justin expressed gratitude to the team, calling the project a special journey and thanking Sathyan Anthikad for entrusting him with the score.

Adding to the anticipation, a teaser recently released by the makers has gone viral for its sharp wit and endearing humour. It features a hilarious exchange between Mohanlal’s character and a non-Malayali fan who proclaims his love for actor Fahadh Faasil—referred to as “Fafa”—while dismissing veteran actors. Mohanlal’s amused reaction and quiet exit set the tone for a film rich in comedy and charm.
Hridayapoorvam marks another collaboration between Sathyan Anthikad and Mohanlal, a duo known for delivering evergreen Malayalam classics. Expectations are high, given their history of crafting emotionally resonant, family-centric narratives.
The film boasts a strong ensemble cast including Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita, Siddique, Baburaj, Lalu Alex, Nishan, and Janardhanan. With a story by Akhil Sathyan and screenplay by Sonu TP, the film features cinematography by Anu Moothedath and is backed by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
With its heartwarming tone, seasoned director-actor combo, and a promise of both humour and emotion, Hridayapoorvam is shaping up to be a perfect Onam season entertainer.
