Lakhimpur Kheri, Aug 23: The District Magistrate of Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh has sealed Goldar Hospital following the death of a newborn, whose father alleged that the hospital repeatedly raised fees and delayed the delivery.
Vipin Gupta reached the DM’s office carrying the body of his newborn child, claiming the hospital initially demanded Rs 10,000 for a normal delivery and Rs 12,000 for a C-section, but continued to increase the charges as his wife went deeper into labour.

Speaking to ANI, Gupta said, "I arranged the money by 2:30 am and even offered to take my wife elsewhere if they were incapable, but they insisted on payment before operating." He further alleged that after the child died, his wife was "thrown" out on the road.
In response, the DM’s office sealed Goldar Hospital and transferred admitted patients to the District Women’s Hospital. ADM AK Rastogi visited Srijan Hospital to ensure proper treatment for expectant mothers. The administration stated it stands with the affected family.
