Varanasi teacher beaten to death over parking dispute; three arrested

Varanasi, Aug 22: In a shocking incident, a 48-year-old school teacher was brutally killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi following a quarrel over parking.

The victim, identified as Praveen Jha, was employed at a reputed private school in the city. According to police, Jha entered into a heated argument with Adarsh Singh over parking space on Thursday night.

As the altercation intensified, Adarsh, along with two associates, allegedly attacked Jha with bricks and an iron rod. The teacher sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Saravanan T confirmed that a case was registered based on the complaint of Jha’s family. The three accused were arrested soon after.

Sources revealed that one of the arrested men is the son of the dean of Patna University, further intensifying the controversy around the case.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
