Bantwal: Women’s meet at BC Road on Aug 19 under Ramanath Rai’s leadership; Sowmya Reddy to open

Bantwal, Aug 18: A mammoth women’s convention is set to take place at Swarsha Kala Mandira, B C Road, on Tuesday, August 19 at 10 am, under the leadership of senior Congress leader and former minister B Ramanath Rai.

The convention, aimed at energising the party’s women cadre and strengthening grassroots outreach, will be inaugurated by Sowmya Reddy, president of the Karnataka Pradesh Mahila Congress.

B Ramanath Rai will preside over the event.

Several prominent women leaders from across the region and state will be in attendance. These include Usha Anchan, president of the Dakshina Kannada District Rural Mahila Congress; Shalet Pinto, former district Mahila Congress president; Kumari Appi, president of the District City Mahila Congress; Mamatha Gatti, chairperson of the Karnataka State Cashew Development Corporation; Pratibha Kulai, member of the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission; and senior party leader Jayanti Poojary, among others.

The event is expected to draw significant participation from women party workers and supporters from across the Bantwal constituency and beyond, as part of the Congress’s ongoing efforts to mobilise women ahead of the upcoming political campaigns.
