Mangaluru, Aug 18: A blood donation camp was held on August 17 in Permannur. The camp was organized by the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R), Mangalore South Varado, and Permannur unit along with SSVP Youth unit, Lions and Leo Club Permannur in collaboration with Father Muller's Hospital.
The programme started with a prayer song by SSVP members. Catholic Sabha Varado secretary Tressy Rodrigues welcomed everyone. The programme was chaired by Fr Jose Vaz, vicar of Mangalore South, and spiritual director Fr Cyprian Pinto inaugurated the camp and gave a message.
Dr Abhay Nayak from Father Muller's Hospital Blood Bank gave information on blood donation.
Permannur Unit president Melvin C D'Souza gave the vote of thanks.
Catholic Sabha Mangalore South Varado president Dolphy D'Souza, SSVP Permannur Unit president Wishart D'Sa, Lions Club Permannur president Lion Cecilia Montero, and Parish Council vice president Arun D'Souza were present on stage. As many as 59 people donated blood.
The entire programme was coordinated by Rishal D'Souza.
