ICYM Farla unit hosts Yuva Sangam 2025, felicitation ceremony of Remona Evette Periera

Mangaluru, Aug 18: ICYM Farla unit hosted Yuva Sangam 2025 along with the felicitation ceremony of Remona Evette Periera at Farla, Bantwal on August 17. The event started soon after the Holy Eucharist with parishioners and youth gathered at the church hall. Remona Evette Periera and other guests were welcomed with a grand band procession.

The programme was attended by parish priest Fr Mark D'Souza, Fr Gilbert Mascarenhas, Fr Wilfred Rodrigues (OCD), Gladys Pereira, resource person Dr Steevan D'Souza and Deepthi D’Souza, Floyd Vincent Pinto (Joint secretary, ICYM Mangalore Diocese & Bantwal Deanery), Parish Pastoral Council members, ICYM animators Arun Monthu and Jyothi Cutinha, YCS animators William Vas and Sunitha Baptist, ICYM president Venisha Menezes, YCS president Adline Vas, and other ICYM Bantwal Deanery Committee members.

The event began with a prayer song by YCS students, followed by a warm welcome and the inaugural ceremony. Fr Mark D'Souza gave the opening speech. During the felicitation ceremony, Remona Evette Periera was honored and thanked everyone with a heartfelt speech, marking the end of the formal programme.

The youth convention began with Dr Steevan D'Souza and Deepthi D'Souza leading a session on leadership. Fr Robert D'Souza motivated the youth with inspiring words. Fr Pius D'Souza, OCD, shared his experiences from the Youth jubilee in Rome, themed 'Pilgrims of Hope: Youth Witness'. The event saw active involvement from all the youth members.

The day concluded with a lively Baila dance, making the event both meaningful and fun.
