Kasargod, Aug 16: Kasargod DySP C K Sunil Kumar has been honoured with the President’s Police Medal for his commendable service to the police department. He received the prestigious award from Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Independence Day, August 15.
In 2023, DySP Sunil Kumar successfully traced and arrested prime accused involved in the smuggling of lethal MDMA drugs to various parts of Kerala from Bengaluru. He also played a crucial role in solving several high-profile cases including the Cheruvathur Vijaya Bank robbery, Kasargod Koodlu Cooperative Bank robbery, Rajadhani Jewellery heist, Nileshwar Thangamani murder case, Periya Subaida murder case, and Cheemeni Janaki murder case.

Earlier, in 2015, he had received the Indian Cyber Cop Award from NASSCOM for his achievements in the cyber police division. In addition, he has been honoured with the Chief Minister’s Medal, the Kerala State Police Director General’s Medal on four occasions, and has secured 103 Good Service Entries for his outstanding work.
A native of Kasargod district, DySP Sunil Kumar’s illustrious career continues to bring recognition to the police force.
