Kota, Aug 15: Eleven schoolchildren and a van driver were injured on Friday when a private school van collided head-on with a car on the Sangod-Khanpur Road in Rajasthan’s Kota district, police said.

The accident took place around noon while students of a private upper primary school in Sangod were returning home after attending an Independence Day event. The van overturned on impact, injuring children aged between 7 and 15 years, along with the driver, Rohit (22).

All injured were taken to a community health centre, with five children and the driver later referred to the New Medical College Hospital in Kota. Police said all were out of danger.

The car’s occupants escaped unhurt as the airbags deployed in time. Both vehicles have been impounded, and a case has been registered.
