Lucknow, Aug 14: A video from the Uttar Pradesh Assembly’s monsoon session has gone viral, capturing a heated exchange between two BJP legislators on Wednesday.

The incident unfolded during a discussion on 'Vision 2047', when Rajesh Chaudhary, MLA from Mathura, and Saurabh Srivastava, MLA from Varanasi, engaged in a verbal clash. Eyewitnesses said Mr Chaudhary accused his colleague of not forwarding his name to the Speaker to participate in the debate.

Tensions escalated as Mr Chaudhary, standing from his seat, appeared to move towards Mr Srivastava, seated two rows ahead, prompting other members to intervene and calm the situation.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav shared the video on his official X handle, alleging that the BJP encourages leaders with “rude behaviour” and “foul language.”

In response, Mr Chaudhary accused Mr Yadav of maintaining silence when Maulana Sajid Rashidi, president of the All India Imam Association, allegedly made derogatory remarks against SP MP Dimple Yadav during a TV debate last month. “If you have even a shred of shame left, respond to the fanatic who insulted the honour of your household. We stand with Dimple ji,” Chaudhary remarked.
