Christ King student qualifies for state-level swimming competition

Karkala, Aug 12: Shaini D’Souza, a grade 9 student of Christ King English Medium High School, Karkala, has been selected for the state-level swimming competition.

Shaini D’Souza earned the spot after excelling in the Udupi district-level swimming competition for primary and high school categories, age group 14–17, held in Manipal under the School Education Department, Government of Karnataka, Zilla Panchayat Udupi, and the DC’s office.

Shaini won a silver medal in the 200m freestyle, along with bronze medals in the 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke events, securing her place at the state level.

Other achievers from the school included Shawn D’Souza of Grade 9, who won bronze in the 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke, and Sia Joanna Anchan of Grade 6, who claimed bronze in the 50m freestyle.
