New Delhi, Aug 9: US electric vehicle giant Tesla has announced the inauguration of its second showroom in Delhi on August 11, following the launch of its first showroom in Mumbai.
Tesla made the announcement on its social media platform X, teasing its arrival in the national capital with the message, "Arriving in Delhi - stay tuned."
The company entered the Indian market on July 15 with the launch of the Tesla Model Y, a midsize electric SUV priced from nearly Rs 60 lacs. Currently, the Model Y is Tesla’s only model available in India, offered in two variants — Rear-Wheel Drive (Rs 60 lac) and Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (Rs 68 lac). Customers can also choose the Full Self-Driving package at an additional Rs 6 lac.
The Model Y comes in six colours, with Stealth Grey available at no extra charge, while other colours such as Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black, Ultra Red, Quicksilver, and Glacier Blue incur additional costs. Interiors feature white or black themes and a five-seat configuration.
Deliveries and registrations are currently available only in Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram, with prices varying by state and taxes. The deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025.
The Long Range variant offers an impressive 622 km range, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, and supports supercharging that adds 267 km of range in 15 minutes. Features include power recline, heating, and ventilation for front seats, and power two-way folding and heating in the rear seats. The vehicle also boasts eight exterior cameras, advanced driver-assistance hardware, and hands-free power trunk opening.
Tesla has also launched its first charging station at Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), supporting its expanding footprint in India’s electric vehicle market.
The Model Y’s launch marks a significant milestone as Tesla pushes into India’s growing EV sector with a focus on range, performance, and cutting-edge technology.
