Mangaluru: St Agnes College organises session on stress and emotional eating

Mangaluru, Aug 9: The AIDS Awareness Cell and Youth Red Cross Unit of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, organised a session titled ‘Feed Your Mind, Balance Your Mood – Tackling Stress and Emotional Eating for a Healthier You’ on August 2. The session was conducted to create awareness about the connection between stress and emotional eating and to promote healthier lifestyle choices among students.

The programme began with a prayer led by Shreya and group, invoking divine blessings for the success of the session. Stancy efficiently compered the programme and ensured its smooth flow. Hasna extended a warm welcome to the gathering, setting a positive tone for the event.

The resource person for the session was Prima Mezita Ferrao, assistant professor, department of nutrition and health education, St Agnes College. She delivered an insightful session on how food choices affect mental well-being and how students can manage stress without resorting to unhealthy eating habits.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Faha, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, organisers, and participants for their enthusiastic involvement.

The event was coordinated by Serena Saldanha, secretary – YRC, and Nimitha K, staff coordinator – YRC.
