Uttarkashi, Aug 6: A devastating cloudburst in Uttarkashi’s Dharali village triggered severe flash floods on Tuesday, leaving homes, shops, and roads destroyed. Another cloudburst hit the Sukhi Top area, compounding the destruction. Several people are feared missing as rescue operations continue amid damaged infrastructure and blocked access routes.

Actor Sonu Sood expressed heartbreak over the tragedy, urging citizens to unite in support. “Heartbroken by the devastating floods & cloudburst in Uttarkashi. Prayers for every life affected. It’s time the nation comes together,” he posted on X.

Actor Bhumi Pednekar voiced concern on Instagram, linking the disaster to climate change. “What’s happening in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand is heartbreaking,” she wrote while sharing visuals of the aftermath.

Dancer and actor Raghav Juyal, a native of Uttarakhand, simply posted “Prayers ??” and later added, “Stop this. It’s already too late,” over a video of construction activity in the hills.

Actor Adivi Sesh also reacted, stating, “Praying for Uttarakhand. Heartbreaking visuals.”

Dharali remains one of the worst-hit regions. The road at Bhatwadi on the Uttarkashi–Harsil route has been completely washed away, leaving the Harsil area cut off. Rescue teams are working under difficult conditions to reach those affected.
