Udupi, Aug 4: "We are ready to swear to Marigudi that what we have displayed is a piece of fiber idol, let MLA Sunil Kumar and his team also come forward and swear that not even 1 percent of fiber has been used in the construction of the Parashurama statue,” said Congress leader Muniyal Udaya Kumar Shetty.

Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty, Congress leader, addressing media during the press meet held on August 4, said, “The Parashurama Statue in Karkala Theme Park by MLA Sunil Kumar has been proved that it is constructed using fiber and other materials, which is a betrayal of the people of Karkala. He is like a kaliyug demon, he established Parashurama Theme Park and placed a fake statue. Driven by his selfish motive to win elections, MLA Sunil Kumar deceived both the people of Karkala and the government by installing a fake statue of Parashurama”

Referring to the police investigation Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty, said, “Even when a case was registered and a police investigation was ongoing regarding the alleged fraud in the statue's construction, Sunil Kumar kept defending the project by claiming that it was indeed made of bronze. But now, the police have completed their investigation and submitted a charge sheet, revealing the truth that the Parashurama statue was not made of bronze. The statue was made of very low-grade bronze.”

“Because a fake statue was installed instead of a promised bronze one, people’s faith has been shaken. Therefore, it is now our duty to construct an authentic bronze statue of Parashurama in Bailur once again. If we are to uphold people’s trust, religion, truth, and justice, the reconstruction of the Parashurama statue is essential,” Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty added.

Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty, further said, “Following the police investigation, it has been proven that a fake, non-bronze statue was constructed in Bailur. Hence, I have filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in court, demanding that a genuine bronze statue be installed again at the site. No matter how much Sunil Kumar and his gang oppose it, we will rebuild the Parashurama statue in Bailur, this is our unwavering commitment.”
